LOW-POWER, LOW-DROPOUT REFERENCE FROM MAXIM HAS 3ppm/°C DRIFT AND FITS IN A TINY µMAX PACKAGE
Note to Editor: This is the industry's smallest sub-10ppm/°C voltage reference IC. It has a 5ppm/°C (max) temperature drift and fits in a 5mm x 3mm footprint µMAX (MSOP) package. No reference has ever been available with less than 10ppm/°C drift in such a small package.
SUNNYVALE, CA-November 26, 2002-Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX6133 series voltage reference. This new low-power reference offers an unprecedented combination of power, dropout, temperature drift, and size. Temperature drift is guaranteed to be less than 3ppm/°C in the SO package and 5ppm/°C in the µMAX package with a 5mm x 3mm footprint. Other features include an initial accuracy of 0.04% (max), a low 200mV dropout at 5mA source current, 15mA source/sink-current capability, and 16µVP-P noise (0.1Hz to 10Hz).
All specifications are guaranteed over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range. The MAX6133 is excellent for applications such as battery- operated devices, industrial controls, data-acquisition systems, high-resolution A/D and D/A converters, and portable instrumentation.
The MAX6133 is available with four fixed output voltages of 2.5V, 3V, 4.096V, and 5V. Prices start at $3.79 (1000-up, B grade SO, FOB USA).
